Kelly Kneeland joined the Development Team as a Development Manager in November 2022 and is based out of the Boston office. Her work focuses on project management for VO’s two east coast lease areas, prepping for monthly board meetings, and supporting the organization of a fast-growing team. Prior to joining Vineyard Offshore, Kelly worked with a small utility-scale solar developer for 2 years on all aspects of early-stage development and project management in New England. She has been studying offshore wind development since 2017, when she interned with Acadia Center’s Hartford, CT office while in graduate school, completing a capstone project on state-level offshore wind policies and provisions along the U.S. eastern seaboard. After supporting NYSERDA’s first offshore wind solicitation efforts in 2019 as a consultant, she grew hopeful about the reality for a growing industry in the U.S.
Kelly has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Policy and Science, Technology and Society from Colby College, and a master’s degree in Environmental Management with a focus in Renewable Energy Development from the Yale School of the Environment. She has 10 years of project management and client management experience in the sustainable development and clean energy space, spanning from local energy efficiency analysis to developing international regulatory frameworks governing isolated off-grid systems in developing countries.
Kelly enjoys traveling and exploring different parts of the world through food and culture, and she is also part of a local axe throwing league. Her personal highlight of 2023 was scoring tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Gilette Stadium (don’t worry, it was not the rain show night!).
