Tribal nations have unique ancestral, cultural, spiritual, and historical ties to the ocean, coastal, and inland areas where we work and Vineyard Offshore seeks to ensure that their sovereignty and other interests are respected in offshore wind development. Recognized explicitly in lease agreements issued by the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and through the National Historic Preservation Act, Tribal nations have particular standing when it comes to potential impacts and benefits of offshore wind developments.
Vineyard Offshore respects the sovereignty of the Tribes associated with its projects and is committed to the industry’s most robust Tribal engagement process, with attention to economic, cultural, environmental, and capacity issues, among others, in the interest of environmental justice, equity, and partnership.

Vineyard Offshore, in partnership with the Bristol Community College Foundation, is pleased to announce a special fund for Wampanoag tribal citizens who are interested in earning a certificate or associate degree in Offshore Wind to pursue a career in this exciting new field. Bristol Community College has several educational pathways for offshore wind education that include full tuition scholarships. Additionally, Vineyard Offshore is generously providing stipends that will support living expenses for a limited number of tribal individuals.
